When working in SAI on some tablets the eraser works as a selector instead of eraser, so you have to change some configs + SAI was last updated in 2014 I think. This is just a qucik list of programs other than SAI. If you want an in-depth comparison between them, I might try, but don't expect anything special. It also reacts to how fast you mouse moves and makes a different stroke. Not free.īlackink is a VERY powerful tool. + now it has a reference window, so you can load an image for reference without the need to open it in a photo viewer or another window. I find it a little more powerful and more lightweight. OpenCanvas 6 in my opinion is better than SAI + it's still supported. People say it's awesome and you can paint like in real life. I didn't like it, but my friend uses it all the time. It's just as powerful as Photoshop and is very popular. I found the free version OK, though a premium version is obviously better, however. Mischief works on INFINTE zoom level, so you can zoom in how much you want (there is a limit, but a very big one, something like 36x million zoom level or something.) It's lightweight and also very easy to use. 39$ i think? I might be wrong, but it is costly. It's free on the website and available on Steam for. Krita has a nice feel to it, easy to use and kinda powerful. There's Krita (Free on their website), Mischief (both free & premium), Gimp, Net.Paint, CorelPaint and OpenCanvas 6 and BlackInk.
